Fairy Tale by TuxedoMoroboshi Fairy Tale by TuxedoMoroboshi
I've been in a bit of a Mario mood lately, and I felt like doing something really retro, so here we are! This whole piece is dedicated to cast of the first Super Mario Bros., and I tried to keep everyone looking really retro here!

Okay, who gave Bowser piece of Willy Wonka's Three-course meal chewing gum?

I always love to see some artwork of the original 1985 Super Mario Bros. and the storyline as well.

The artwork you did really captures the original concept art of Super Mario Bros. really well.

Ya, I'm quite the nostalgia nut when it comes to Super Mario Bros... and I guess in general, too. :XD:

Thank you very much! :D

Awesome work! This reminds me of the SMB1 manual and the Super Mario Bros. 1986 anime film. :iconepicclapplz:

Well, I'm glad I was able to get a good retro feel going with this. Thank you! :D

This brings up two thoughts, looking this over again.

First, at least outside of games where they have eyes, I never actually thought of the fireballs that jump out of the lava to be actual named "living" enemies (I just thought of them as fireballs. :XD:

Second, this reminds me that the game manual states that Lakitu throws "spiny eggs", but I never really thought of them before looking that over, as being anything more than "spinys rolled up in a ball". :XD:

Cool stuff, CPoC!

I think you could have included the Japanese names as well.

Very nice! It maintains much of the charm from the vintage manual!

I'd recommend adjusting the colors on Princess to make her more game accurate, however.

Wonderful composition, though.
